Instructions To Authors

Gexin Publications considers original articles that cover the latest developments in the multidisciplinary fields of Medicine, Biology, Biomedicine, and Engineering, with a strong emphasis on high-quality content.

Article Types Accepted

Original Articles

These articles present original investigations and research that offer new and significant contributions to the field. Authors are encouraged to consult the Journal Sections listing for topic-specific details.

Editorials

Editorials are typically solicited by the Editors and relate to an article published in the same issue. They reflect the opinions and insights of recognized experts on specific topics.

Letters to The Editor

Letters should comment on work previously published in Gexin Publications journals. To be considered, they must be submitted within 1–2 months of the online publication date of the article in question. Publication is at the sole discretion of the Editor, who may consult experts to assess the merit of the letter. Occasionally, letters on other relevant topics may also be considered.

Topic Review Articles

These articles provide comprehensive overviews of major areas or subfields related to the journal’s scope. Their purpose is to describe new developments, summarize recent progress, or analyze existing published evidence.

Commentaries

Usually solicited by the Editors, commentaries express expert opinions on key topics and are not necessarily linked to specific articles. They may be used for ongoing discussions, debates, or emerging issues within the field.

Case Reports

Case reports focus on oncology-specific cases and are evaluated based on their clinical relevance and educational value rather than novelty or rarity.

Manuscript Process

Cover Letter

A cover letter must accompany all manuscripts submitted to the journal. The letter should clearly state that the manuscript has been submitted exclusively to this journal and has not been previously published in any form in another publication, except as an abstract, a published lecture, or part of an academic thesis.

The corresponding author must also confirm that any studies involving human or animal subjects were conducted in accordance with the ethical standards and regulatory requirements of their country and institutional ethical committee. Additionally, the study must be properly registered with a recognized clinical trial registry, where applicable.

Structure & Presentation

Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Use a clear, standard font such as 12-point Times New Roman, with italics for emphasis where needed. All pages must be numbered consecutively at the bottom of the page using the automatic page numbering function in Word. Submissions must be written in uniform American English and prepared for initial review in a clear, organized format.

  • Title page: This section should start on a new page should provide: a concise and informative title of the article; list the full names; institutional addresses; email addresses for all authors and indicate the corresponding author and a running head of not more than 80 characters.
  • Abstract: This part of the manuscript should not exceed 300 words should state concisely the purpose and pertinent methods of the study, as well as the findings and specific conclusions (without title head, background, method or result)
  • Keywords: Author(s) must give about 5-8 key words as index terms representing the article content which can identify the most important subjects covered by the paper. They must be placed at the end of the abstract. Do not repeat words used in the title.
  • Body of Manuscript: should begin on a new page and not exceed 6000 words excluded the references and be arranged as follows:
  • Introduction: Include a summary of a search of the literature to indicate why this study was necessary and what it aimed to contribute to the field and relating the manuscript to similar previous research.
  • Materials and Methods: This section must contain specific details about the design of the study, materials involved, instruments used, specialized chemical source and the type of analysis used, including a power calculation if appropriate. For studies involving human participants a statement detailing ethical approval and consent should be included in the methods section.
  • Results: Should be clear and concise and included statistical analysis with short informative subsections.
  • Discussion: The interpreted results should be explained clearly and should relate them to the existing knowledge in the field as clearly as possible.
  • Competing interests: Authors are required to complete a declaration of competing interests. All competing interests that are declared will be listed at the end of published articles. Where an author gives no competing interests, the listing will read ‘The author(s) declare that they have no competing interests’.
  • List of abbreviations: For standard abbreviations, authors should follow the guidelines in the Council of Biology Editors Style Manual, 5th edition. All other abbreviations should be defined when first used and listed in a footnote; Abbreviations PDF.
  • Acknowledgements: List those individuals who provided help during the research and do not meet the criteria for authorship (e.g., providing language help, writing assistance or proof reading the article etc.).

Reference Style Guidelines

The following rules for handling works by a single author or multiple authors apply to all APA-style references in your reference list, regardless of the type of work (book, article, electronic resource, etc.).

Single Author

Last name first, followed by author initials.

Anderson, D. E. (2007). Reliability of air displacement plethysmography. J Strength Cond Res, 21(1):169-72.

Two Authors

List by their last names and initials. Use the ampersand instead of "and."

Rafaelli, M., & Ontai, L. L. (2004). Gender socialization in Latino/a families: Results from two retrospective studies. Sex Roles, 50(5/6), 287-299.

More Than Seven Authors

List by last names and initials; commas separate author names. After the sixth author's name, use an ellipsis in place of the author names. Then provide the final author name. There should be no more than seven names.

Blustein, E. C., Munn-Chernoff, M. A., Grant, J. D., Sartor, C. E., Waldron, M., Bucholz, K. K., Madden, P. A. (2015). The Association of Low Parental Monitoring With Early Substance Use in European American and African American Adolescent Girls. Journal of studies on alcohol and drugs, 76(6), 852–861.

Organization as Author

Also known as a "corporate author." Here, you simply treat the publishing organization the same way you'd treat the author's name and format the rest of the citation as normal.

American Psychological Association. (2009). Blog guidelines. APA Style Blog. Retrieved from https://blog.apastyle.org/apastyle/blog-guidelines.html

Unknown Author

Xyz-A collegiate dictionary (10th ed.). (1993). Springfield, MA: Xyz-A.

NOTE: When your essay includes parenthetical citations of sources with no author named, use a shortened version of the source's title instead of an author's name. Use quotation marks and italics as appropriate. For example, parenthetical citations of the source above would appear as follows: (Xyz-A, 1993).

Introductions, Prefaces, Forewords, and Afterwords

Cite the publishing information about a book as usual, but cite Introduction, Preface, Foreword, or Afterword (whatever title is applicable) as the chapter of the book.
