Journal of Comprehensive Nursing Research and Care
FROM : Transforming Healthcare Delivery: The Role of Collaborations, Innovations, and Technologies in Addressing the Nursing Shortage

Reviewer Comments-1

References should not be cited in the abstract.  The introduction of the paragraph should not be started by saying “therefore". The introduction of the research is not written in accordance with the purpose of the research. In the last paragraph of the introduction, the type and purpose of this research is not clearly stated. If the aim of the research is to understand the perspectives of nursing academics and students on the use of artificial intelligence, the introduction should firstly give the history of artificial intelligence, the use of artificial intelligence in health, the history of the use of artificial intelligence in nursing, the advantages and disadvantages of using artificial intelligence in nursing, supported by examples from the literature. Please clearly state the purpose and type of this research. What is your population and sample? What are the inclusion and exclusion criteria? How was the sample calculation made? How was it decided that the number of this sample was sufficient? Was informed consent obtained for this research? Which literature has been examined to develop this questionnaire? On what basis were these questions selected? How qualitative data analysis is performed should be indicated with references.  Were no sources used in the discussion? The discussion section should be structured by comparing the aim and main findings of this research with the literature.

Reviewer Comments-2

Thanks for the opportunity to review this manuscript. Since there was no summary link, here is my review.
The topic is timely and meaningful to nursing. The authors have moved past just talking points about AI and discussed its use, which is now needed in nursing literature. It's crucial to present AI in a balanced and unbiased manner, and the authors have done so effectively. The title is appropriate. The manuscript uses a collaborative approach to describe the potential use of AI in assessment, monitoring, and evaluation, showing a sense of responsibility and commitment from the authors.
The technical quality is weak but interesting, and the findings allow for a targeted discussion of AI beginning in academia to bring about change in practice. The authors present that the study is limited but meaningful to present the needs of faculty and students. Given that this study originates from an HBCU is also a plus. Much has been discussed about AI biases. It is important to have everyone at the table to prevent or correct this potential flaw. The manuscript could highlight this point as an additional purpose to educate faculty and students about AI. I appreciate that the authors are highlighting the potential benefits of AI, which can inspire and bring optimism to the readers. The references are timely and support the paper. Consider articles from sounder sources.
I think implementing policies at the University level will be extremely difficult. From sitting on panels at the state level in Louisiana, I know that policies are not one size fits all, and many negative views from faculty remain, although this is rapidly changing. The authors might consider elucidating this point with support and direction before introducing it in the conclusion. The manuscript is clear and easy to understand. It should be published, with a few revision considerations, as mentioned. I hope these comments help you make your decision.
